Challenge Poverty week

Today we were very lucky to have S6 from West Calder high visiting us today to explain challenge poverty week. They talked about lunches and uniforms and highlighted what actions we can take. This is a Scotland- wide campaign that challenges the stigma and discrimination often associated with poverty.

Cardboard Boxes Wanted!

Some of the children are going to start assembling our French buildings this week. We have created our lists of what we need and cardboard boxes tops the list. We would be grateful if you could send in any tomorrow and Wednesday so that we can get started! Thank you!

Art and Craft club fun today

Today we were creating snow globes and designed our own personal skateboards. It was messy art and we loved it!

Maths week Scotland: Wild Maths

Today as part of Maths week Scotland, we worked outside as a team to collect natural materials such as leaves, pebbles, sticks and feathers. Back in the classroom we created designs such as repeated patterns and lines of symmetry using our own materials.

Pattern Hunt

Today as part of our maths lesson we went out to the school playground on a pattern hunt. We found different tree barks, arrangements of plants, games markings, paving stones, brick walls and windows to name a few! Lots of collaboration and creativity!

Emotion Detectives

We have been Emotional Detectives today with our handy magnifying glasses! We were identifying the emotions of the characters in our books but looking at facial expressions and body language.

Eiffel Tower Art

Today we challenged ourselves to draw the Eiffel Tower as part of our creativity project. We were practicing using line as outline, drawing shapes and bold lines using our rulers.
