This afternoon we had an extra football training session from West Lothian community Association. This was great fun, learning new skills and having a game at the end.
Today we all had the chance to try out some hockey skills from Livingston Hockey Club. We practised lots of skills such as passing and tackling before a mini game. We had lots of fun and are looking forward to football this afternoon.
We had a fun whole school visit to the RHS yesterday. It was a fantastic day out in the sunshine, getting to see the cattle, sheep, horses and much more. Our final day was filled with a handful of activities including Manor Olympics, Bivi and Initiative. The children enjoyed a fun-filled, action packed day yesterday where they had a chance to participate in Bivi (den-building), obstacle course, initiative (problem solving tasks), axe throwing, archery, abseiling and finishing up with a camp-fire where we sang songs and toasted marshmallows. Today our creativity hour was designing word art! We were working online with the National Galleries of Scotland and two fabulous industry experts-Lorna and Liz. Primary 5-7 had an adventurous day yesterday canoeing in the Union canal with Ian, from Excite leisure. Lots of new canoeing skills were practised and we even had time for a few water games too!
We are participating in the local Hobby Craft, Easter Bonnet competition. Some fabulous designs have been created and we can't wait to hand them in to the shop for judging.
This morning P5-P7 were working in random groups playing a game of reasoned rounding. Lots of collaboration and Math Talk Moves strategies within each group.
This week P5-7 had the chance to train up in leading their own lunch time club. During session 1 we explored the skills we would need to be able to organise a games club and we talked about the different sports we might like to play.
