Burns Supper
Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting our Burns supper. We were delighted to welcome in our parents/carers and other members of our families. The hall was filled with enthusiasm as everyone read their slide clearly and performed their Burns poem. The children sang a range of Scot’s songs, showing respect for Scotland’s rich literacy heritage. It was a pleasure to see their hard work and preparation come to life in front of an appreciative audience.
This event was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come together, celebrate Scottish Culture and share their learning with others. We finished off by serving a cup of haggis, neeps and tatties to our grown ups! This was all prepared by the children earlier in the day and Mrs Haston, and it was delicious.
We kept to tradition by singing and dancing to auld lang syne before we left school and we enjoyed a treat of a small drink of Irn bru with shortbread. A huge well done to all the children for their fantastic singing, and thank you to all of our guests for helping to make the Burns Supper so special.
