Today in P4-P7 we started to read a range of descriptive texts, focusing on characters in our group novel and how they are portrayed. We started by looking at descriptive language and grammar using our Think Aloud approaches and then had the opportunity to describe another character of our choice.

This week in Woodmuir literacy hour we have been very busy working together on our new class novel Turtle Moon. Children were predicting what the book is about, reading character descriptions and designing their own book cover!
The children had the opportunity to express their views and voice their opinions on our middle area hub. Working with their peers, communicating and collaborating, they came up with super suggestions of what they would like their hub area to look like and sound like. This afternoon we had an extra football training session from West Lothian community Association. This was great fun, learning new skills and having a game at the end.
Today we all had the chance to try out some hockey skills from Livingston Hockey Club. We practised lots of skills such as passing and tackling before a mini game. We had lots of fun and are looking forward to football this afternoon.
We had a fun whole school visit to the RHS yesterday. It was a fantastic day out in the sunshine, getting to see the cattle, sheep, horses and much more.
